Each run has three lives. A live is lost if any enemy unit touches the castle. If this happens during the final round the entire run is lost. Every year includes a battle but some years have additional effects.
Each run will start with 2 opposing kings as well as rebel armies from the king that has been chosen. Additional kings will be added and removed as the run progresses. Before each battle an icon in the lower-right corner will indicate which king will attack next.
